Men want games and women want chickens

The dream home of an average UK person is a three-bedroom semi-detached house in a country village, according to new research
This dream home would ideally have a games room for the man of the house and a chicken run for the lady.
The research was carried out by AA Home Emergency Response unit and draws an interesting picture of the dream home.
Luxury is pushed aside for Wellington boots and mountain views according to the research.

Almost half of those surveyed would like to live in the countryside with 48 per cent wanting sea views.
When it comes to inside the house, twice as many men as women would include a games room in their dream home.
About 26 per cent of men also want their own cinema at home.
But both sexes want a large open-plan kitchen area, gym and swimming pool for their dream house.

The females surveyed want their dream home to have grounds for livestock, such as a chicken run, whereas only 22 per cent of men prioritised this on their list of attributes for a home.

Tom Stringer, head of AA Home Emergency Response, was surprised that the dream home was not more aspirational.
“We are used to drivers dreaming about owning cars most of us are never likely to afford, such as a Ferrari,” he said.
“However, when it comes to houses, the research shows that we are much more realistic and that for many of us, our dream home is likely to be within our reach.”
